Mustang Athletics
Mullen High School offers 26 state-sanctioned sports for Mustangs boys and girls, and are open to all participants. We promote respect for adults, fellow team members and opponents at all times on and off the competitive arena.
For those who aspire to be serious athletes, Mullen also offers some of the finest coaches and most-competitive interscholastic teams in Colorado in its upper classifications.
Hank is in his 25th year at Mullen. Prior to arriving at Mullen, Hank taught and coached at Little Rock Catholic High School in Arkansas for six years and Dallas Jesuit in Texas for seven and a half years. At Mullen, Hank has taught English and coached football for 14 years before transitioning into an administrative role. He has worked in the Athletic Department as Dean of Athletic Renewal, Assistant Athletic Director, Interim Athletic Director and currently as Associate Athletic Director. Hank and his wife Pam have two children, both Mullen grads, Lindsay ('07) and Patrick ('04). Lindsay is the Director of Admissions at Mullen. Patrick and his wife Heather both work for the NHL's San Jose Sharks -- Patrick is the Director of Integrated Marketing and Heather the Director of the Sharks Foundation. They are parents to daughters Graysen Rhea (6), Quinn Everly (4), and Scotland Jean (6 months).
Ben is beginning his 2nd year as the Administrative Assistant for Athletics at Mullen High School. His Catholic faith, sports, and serving others is the essence of who he is. Born and raised in Colorado, Ben is the oldest of seven children. He spent his childhood and teen years participating in various sports and immersing himself in all things athletics including umpiring for Little League Baseball. He played four years of baseball at St. Mary High School in Colorado Springs, served as team captain, and played two years on the All-Conference and All-State Teams. At Colorado Mesa University, Ben played four years of competitive club baseball as a pitcher and shortstop, served as team captain and treasurer, and held the secretary position on the collegiate club sports leadership committee and budgeting advocate for the board of directors. Upon completion of a Mountain West Athletic Conference internship, he graduated with honors from CMU with a bachelor's degree in Sports Management and minor in business administration. He has a career background in event management, sales, and finance. In addition to watching sports, he enjoys playing softball and snowboarding.
